Griffin AI Roadmap Update: Achievements and Progress

We began 2024 with the completion of the Griffin AI Whitepaper, a key milestone that set out the framework and vision for our decentralized ecosystem. This document provides detailed guidance on the design and functionality of our network, outlining how AI agents are integrated with blockchain infrastructure. Far from being static, the whitepaper evolves alongside our project, serving as a living reference that supports contributors, partners, and the broader community. 

Its completion early in the year established a shared understanding of our goals and values, reinforcing our commitment to transparency and innovation. Every subsequent achievement has been built on the principles laid out in this foundational document. 

The first quarter of the year also saw the formation of our core team—a group of talented individuals brought together by a shared passion for advancing decentralized systems and AI-driven solutions. This wasn’t about filling positions; it was about assembling a team whose skills and vision align with the ambitious goals of Griffin AI. 

Engineers, researchers, community leaders, and visionaries joined forces to create a culture of collaboration and creativity. Their efforts have driven the technical breakthroughs we’ve achieved this year, while their shared sense of purpose continues to inspire the broader Griffin community.

In the third quarter of 2024, we successfully deployed the Griffin database and node network on testnet. This milestone was critical in proving the core functionality of our decentralized infrastructure. In doing this we have been able to test and refine the system’s scalability, resilience, and efficiency. This achievement laid the groundwork for future public testing phases, ensuring that the Griffin network is robust and capable of meeting the demands of its growing user base while maintaining seamless performance. 

This was the first full-scale trial of our distributed architecture, allowing us to evaluate the system’s scalability, security, and overall functionality in a controlled environment. This phase of testing has been invaluable, providing insights that have guided refinements and optimizations as we prepare for public testnet. 

In the third quarter of 2024, we completed the Griffin smart contract and Griffin ID registry contracts, two essential components of the network’s architecture. The smart contract ensures a secure and efficient system for transactions, while the ID registry puts in place a decentralized way for users to manage their identities safely. These advancements were key to enabling seamless and trusted interactions across the network. With these foundational contracts in place, we ensured the Griffin ecosystem is ready to support a scalable, user-centric platform for agents and services. 

Also in the third quarter, we integrated Griffin ID on testnet. This secure, privacy-first identity solution is a cornerstone of our ecosystem, enabling users to authenticate and interact with the network seamlessly. The smooth implementation of Griffin ID reflects the maturity of our development process and the robustness of the solution. 

This achievement strengthens the foundation of the Griffin ecosystem, ensuring that privacy and security remain central as we scale our network and engage with a growing user base. 

This step was focused on more than ensuring functionality. It’s about giving users the ability to take charge of their digital identity in a way that’s both secure and intuitive. As we prepare for broader deployment, Griffin ID is poised to become a vital tool for making decentralized systems accessible and empowering users to confidently engage with the ecosystem. 

The release of Griffin AI Platform v1.0 in Q2 2024 laid the foundation for everything that followed. This initial version provided essential tools for our developers, enabling them to build and test AI agents in a collaborative ecosystem.

In the third quarter, we launched the AI Agent Playground, a platform created to give users and developers a hands-on way to explore AI agents in simulated environments. It’s where theory meets practice, offering an opportunity to experience the real-world potential of AI technology. This represented an open invitation for the community to contribute to shaping the future of the platform as they began to help us in testing agents as part of the bug bounty program. 

The Playground is a space for experimentation and discovery, allowing users to see firsthand how AI agents can function in decentralized systems. This platform highlights the possibilities within our ecosystem while fostering creativity and innovation, as evidenced by the 200,000 users who have followed Griffin AI’s journey and the many thousands who have helped test our AI agents and provided invaluable feedback along the way. 

In mid-Q4, Griffin AI Platform v2.0 went live. This major update reflects everything we’ve learned over the past year and takes the platform to the next level. The platform v2 introduces more powerful tools, smoother workflows, and user-friendly features designed to meet the needs of developers and end-users alike. Far from a simple update, Platform v2.0 is a significant leap forward, solidifying Griffin AI’s position at the forefront of AI and blockchain integration. The release of v2.0 also underscores our commitment to continuous improvement.  

In collaboration with Smart Valor, Griffin AI helped bring ELANN.AI to life—a personal research analyst powered by advanced AI technology. This project was a critical early application of Griffin AI’s capabilities in a third-party ecosystem, designed to address real-world challenges. ELANN.AI delivered tangible value by helping users navigate complex datasets and extract actionable insights tailored to their needs. ELANN.AI saw immense support immediately, with over 50,000 downloads of the mobile app at launch. 

Griffin AI reached another important milestone in Q2 2024 with its first major business-to-business partnership. By integrating one of our our AI agents, ELANN.AI, into Burrito Wallet, we expanded the apps’ reach, onboarding another 400,000 users to this leading crypto research app, and helping users manage their digital assets efficiently whilst receiving custom reports and insights to improve decision-making. 

This integration transformed the way users interacted with the platform, simplifying complex processes and enhancing overall usability. For Griffin AI, this collaboration was an opportunity to offer access to functional AI agents serving a real-world purpose for users in multiple languages, including English, Korean, and German - further demonstrating their flexibility and value in diverse environments. 

In Q3 2024, we expanded our agent offerings with a suite of specialized agents tailored to specific use cases: the Research Agent, Influencer Agent, Voice Agent, and Web3 News Reporter. Each of these agents brings unique capabilities to the Griffin ecosystem, enabling users to address challenges across diverse industries. 

• Research Agent: Designed to sift through vast datasets, the Research Agent provides users with targeted insights and actionable recommendations, saving time and effort. 
• Influencer Agent: The influencer agent gives users a chance to pick the brains of leading thinkers in the space, such as Vitalik Buterin. We continue to release new specific key thought leaders in AI agent form as part of our AI Playground. 
• Voice Agent: With advanced speech recognition and conversational AI capabilities, the Voice Agent is a foundational agent which users will be able to develop in future to a wide range of objectives. 
• Llama Agent: The Llama Agent, our general-purpose chat agent, offers users an open and dynamic conversational experience. This agent will also help lay the groundwork for the deployment of our upcoming Agent Builder. With fewer guardrails compared to many non-open-source models, Llama Agent provides greater flexibility in its responses and in our exploration of LLMs. 
• Image Generator: Our Image Generator agent adds a visual dimension to the Griffin ecosystem, enabling users to create dynamic, AI-generated images. From design applications to creative projects, this agent offers a tool for visual storytelling and content creation, broadening the range of possibilities for users and developers alike.

One of our immediate objectives is completing a thorough independent smart contract audit. This critical process is being carried out by a top-tier security firm to ensure that we demonstrably operate with the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and reliability. The audit will evaluate every aspect, including code architecture and transaction mechanics, while identifying and mitigating potential vulnerabilities. 

This security audit is a cornerstone of a robust measure of trust in our protocol and platform. The Griffin token will serve as the foundation for our network’s interactions, enabling payments, powering agent services, and securing exchanges. 

As we expand the infrastructure of the Griffin Network, our focus is on finalizing three essential components: the ID Registry, the Service/Agent Registry, and Bonding Contracts. Each plays a unique role in streamlining interactions and fostering trust within our ecosystem, and allows Griffin AI to scale responsibly, and successfully. 

• ID Registry: This decentralized system manages user identities, offering secure authentication while preserving privacy. 
• Service/Agent Registry: A centralized directory for discovering agents and services, making navigation within the ecosystem intuitive and efficient. 
• Bonding Contracts: These contracts serve as a financial mechanism designed to enhance network security and encourage participation by bonding participants' tokens. When node operators or service providers offer services on the network, they are required to lock a certain number of tokens in a smart contract as a bond. This acts as a form of collateral that ensures commitment and good behavior. If a participant fails to meet service level agreements (SLAs) or engages in malicious activity, bonded tokens can be slashed as a penalty. 

As part of our commitment to enhancing network security and functionality, Q4 2024 will see the implementation of message signing, authorization, and payment functionalities on testnet. This milestone is critical to ensuring secure interactions between users and agents, enabling seamless and trustworthy exchanges. 

• Message Signing ensures the authenticity of communications within the network, mitigating risks of tampering or spoofing. 
• Authorization Protocols introduce a robust framework for managing access permissions, enhancing user control. 
• Payment Integration establishes a streamlined method for transactions within the testnet, laying the groundwork for real-world scalability.

In early 2025, we will undergo a thorough audit of the smart contracts underpinning the ID Registry, Agent Registry, and Bonding Contracts—core elements of the Griffin AI ecosystem. This independent review will rigorously test the security and performance of these components to ensure they operate flawlessly and without vulnerabilities. Completing this audit will provide the confidence and reliability needed as we expand Griffin AI’s capabilities and prepare for wider adoption across decentralized networks. 

In the first quarter of 2025, we will publicly launch Griffin ID on a major Layer 2 blockchain. This milestone will make our decentralized identity solution broadly accessible, empowering users to take control of their digital identities with unmatched autonomy. 

Layer 2 integration was selected for its scalability and cost efficiency, ensuring that Griffin ID remains practical as adoption scales. This launch is a step toward addressing critical needs for privacy and independence in the digital era. By allowing users to authenticate securely without relying on centralized systems, Griffin ID lays the groundwork for a fairer, more secure digital landscape. 

The public testnet for the Griffin AI network and database is set to launch in early 2025, marking a significant step toward full decentralization. This testnet will allow users to interact with and stress-test the system in a live environment, providing valuable feedback to refine the platform. 

The public testnet will offer: 

• Scalability Testing: Ensuring the network can handle a growing number of users and agents. 
• Real-World Applications: Allowing developers and businesses to explore how the Griffin ecosystem can address their specific needs. 
• Community Collaboration: Inviting users to co-create solutions and shape the final iteration of the platform. 

By Q2 2025, we’ll roll out Griffin ID to even more Layer 1 and Layer 2 blockchain networks, making it easier for users across different ecosystems to manage their identities securely and efficiently. This step is about making sure Griffin ID can meet people where they are, creating a more connected and flexible network. Expanding to multiple platforms also strengthens interoperability, giving users and developers the tools to engage across the ecosystem. 

In Q2 2025, we’ll introduce the Service/Agent Registry and Bonding Contracts, two core components of the Griffin Network. The Service/Agent Registry will make it straightforward to discover agents and services. 

Bonding contracts help maintain the integrity of the network by providing economic incentives for participants to act honestly and perform their duties reliably. These contracts are pivotal in supporting the autonomous operations of AI agents and ensuring trustworthiness in transactions and service delivery. By leveraging bonding contracts, Griffin AI can foster a robust, decentralized ecosystem where participants are motivated to contribute positively and uphold network standards. 

We’ll bring Guardian Nodes to the testnet in Q2 2025, laying the foundation for a reputation system that rewards trust and accountability. Guardian Nodes will monitor agent activity and user feedback to create transparent reputation scores, helping users make informed decisions when interacting with agents and services. This system adds an important layer of reliability to the network. 

By the second half of 2025, Griffin AI will be fully integrated across all major Layer 1 and Layer 2 blockchain networks. This broad integration will ensure that users and developers can access our tools and services regardless of their preferred platforms. It’s a big step toward creating a truly interoperable network, one that adapts to the needs of its community and remains open to the possibilities of decentralized innovation. 

The Griffin AI Network Mainnet will launch in H2 2025, bringing the entire ecosystem into full operation. This launch will combine all the foundational pieces—Griffin ID, Service/Agent Registry, Bonding Contracts, Guardian Nodes—into a unified and functional network. It’s not just the culmination of our efforts; it’s the start of what comes next. With the mainnet live, the Griffin Network will be a dynamic, practical space for users to interact, create, and collaborate with intelligent agents in ways that weren’t possible before. 

By the close of 2024, we will introduce the AI Agent Builder Test Version, a platform designed to make agent creation accessible to everyone, regardless of technical expertise. This user-friendly tool opens up the possibilities of AI development to a much wider audience, encouraging experimentation and innovation within the Griffin ecosystem. 

This Test Version offers a window into the future of collaborative AI development. By creating an intuitive interface, we’re inviting participants from diverse backgrounds to shape the network with their ideas. The AI Agent Builder will be designed to support developers and non-coding creative founders alike in developing agents to suit their goals. Feedback during this phase will play a critical role in refining the platform for its full release. 

In the first quarter of 2025, we’ll launch a feature that allows users to publish, share, and utilize agents across the Griffin Network. This marks a significant step in making the ecosystem more collaborative and user focused. Developers will have the ability to showcase their work to the entire community, while users can easily discover agents that meet their specific needs. By facilitating this exchange, we’re creating a network where ideas and solutions flow freely, encouraging innovation and ensuring that the value of each agent reaches as many people as possible. 

The full release of AI Agent Builder 1.0 in early 2025 will elevate agent creation to a new level. Enhanced with function-calling capabilities and tool integration, this version will allow users to design agents capable of performing advanced tasks and interacting more widely with external systems, as well as calling different agents as one would call models such as Llama Agent, Wild Llama, and GPT-based agents. 

This milestone will signify a major advancement in empowering the community. By unlocking the potential for highly specialized agents, Version 1.0 will support solutions ranging from automated workflows to delivering real-time insights in complex environments. 

Set to release in Q2 2025, AI Agent Builder 2.0 will introduce groundbreaking multi-agent system capabilities. This advanced functionality will allow users to design interconnected agents that can collaborate dynamically to achieve complex goals.  

AI Agent Builder 2.0 will enhance usability and support cutting-edge innovation across diverse industries and sectors, across and beyond DeFi. 

The AI Agent Marketplace will launch in Q2 2025, creating a hub where developers can showcase, share, and monetize their custom-built agents. This marketplace will serve as a central point for collaboration, innovation, and growth within the Griffin ecosystem. 

Key features of the marketplace will include: 

• Agent Listings: Users will be able to explore a diverse range of agents, from general-purpose tools to highly specialized solutions. 
• Revenue Opportunities: Developers will be able to monetize their agents by offering them as purchasable or subscription-based services. 
• Community Engagement: The marketplace will encourage collaboration by fostering a diverse and dynamic exchange of ideas and AI solutions. 

In Q2 2025, we will launch a network-wide reputation system that evaluates all publicly available AI agents within the Griffin ecosystem. This system will provide detailed information about each agent's performance, reliability, and user feedback. For users, it’s a practical tool to identify the best agents for their needs, while developers can leverage positive feedback to showcase their work and attract more engagement. This reputation system creates a transparent and trustworthy environment, rewarding agents that consistently perform well and meet user expectations. 

The second half of 2025 will introduce Agent-to-Agent Messaging, allowing AI agents within the Griffin Network to communicate and work together autonomously. This feature will enable agents to share information, collaborate on complex workflows, and adapt to user demands in real time. By building communication pathways between agents, we’re paving the way for dynamic multi-agent systems that bring more intelligence and efficiency to solving real-world challenges. 

In H2 2025, the Griffin AI Agent Marketplace will add advanced trading and monetization features to support both developers and users. Developers will gain tools to set up custom pricing models, including sales, licensing, and subscription options for their agents. Users, in turn, will have access to tailored agent features and services that align with their specific needs. These marketplace upgrades are designed to create a sustainable, mutually beneficial ecosystem where innovation is rewarded, and users can find exactly what they’re looking for. 

By H2 2025, all reputation systems within the Griffin ecosystem will be unified into the Griffin AI Reputation System. This full integration will provide a cohesive evaluation framework for agents, services, and developers. Users will be able to see consolidated reputation scores across the network, making it easier to assess and trust the agents and services they interact with. For developers, a unified system means that their reputation will be carried across the entire network, offering a consistent way to build credibility and attract users. 

In the second half of 2025, we’ll roll out SDKs and robust development tools to empower third-party developers to create and deploy their own agents on the Griffin platform. These resources will include detailed documentation, pre-built templates, and testing environments to simplify the development process. By offering these tools, we’re enabling more creators to participate in the ecosystem, driving innovation and expanding the range of services available to users whilst ensuring Griffin AI remains developer friendly.

In H2 2025, Griffin AI agents will gain the ability to deploy automatically as Mini-Apps on platforms like Telegram. This functionality is about making agents more practical and increasing their reach by meeting users where they already are. 

By the end of 2024, we’ll expand our ecosystem with the launch of general base agents, expanding on our starting point with the recent release of Llama Agent, with the upcoming release of our Wild Llama Agent, designed to remove almost all programmed constraints and give users the chance to learn about LLMs directly without limitations.  

Wild Llama extends the functionality of our deployed Llama Agent with a fully uncensored LLM deployment, allowing users to set their own parameters and to explore interaction with an LLM fully without programmed constraints. 

In parallel, we’re also launching crypto-specific agents like the Price Performance Analyst. These agents are trained on blockchain-centric datasets, offering insights tailored to users operating in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space. 

The Price Performance Analyst, for instance, will be able to analyze historical data, detect trends, and provide forecasts, equipping users with actionable information. By focusing on crypto-specific functionalities, we continue to build out a leading service for those seeking to tackle blockchain-based challenges with AI Agents. 

In Q4 2024, we will deploy our Transaction Execution Agent, codenamed Vesper, for public testing. Vesper is designed to simplify complex blockchain interactions, making it easier for users to execute secure and efficient transactions. 

Vesper’s key features include: 

• Automated Execution: Streamlines the process of setting up and executing transactions, reducing manual effort. 
• Customizable Parameters: Users will be able to configure Vesper to handle a wide range of transaction types and conditions. 
• Error Mitigation: Built-in safeguards ensure accuracy and reliability during execution.

By the end of 2024, we’ll deploy Griffin AI agents as mini apps on third-party platforms to showcase their versatility and reach a wider audience. These mini apps will serve as dynamic tools that integrate seamlessly into popular applications, enabling users to experience the functionality of Griffin agents without needing to navigate complex systems. This initiative is designed to demonstrate the real-world value of our agents, spark interest among new users, and foster greater community engagement. 

We are here to transform and support the entire ecosystem, and our ability to integrate our services into miniapps across platforms such as Telegram and Worldcoin further demonstrates this. 

In the first quarter of 2025, Griffin AI will enhance its agent ecosystem by integrating alternative models, including open-source and large-scale AI frameworks. These additions will provide developers with greater flexibility and more powerful tools to build specialized agents. By offering access to a broader range of models, we’re ensuring the Griffin ecosystem remains adaptable and capable of supporting diverse use cases, from general applications to industry-specific solutions. 

Also, in Q1 2025, we’ll introduce crypto-specific agents built in collaboration with major blockchain networks and protocols. These agents will be tailored to address the unique challenges of the decentralized finance (DeFi) space, such as managing on-chain data, providing actionable insights, and automating complex transactions. By partnering with established blockchain platforms, we aim to deliver agents that are not only innovative but also deeply integrated into the fabric of the crypto ecosystem. 

The release of Transaction Execution Agent (TEA) V2.0 in Q1 2025 will significantly enhance the agent’s functionality, focusing on frequent DeFi use cases. This updated version will enable users to manage complex financial operations, such as liquidity pooling, yield farming, and decentralized exchanges, with greater ease and precision. TEA V2.0 is designed to simplify interactions and interoperability across blockchain protocols, making advanced DeFi strategies more accessible to both experienced users and newcomers. 

In Q2 2025, Griffin AI will broaden its ecosystem by integrating decentralized AI models from third-party providers. These models will allow developers to build agents with unique capabilities that align with specific user needs and industries. By opening the door to external contributors, we’re creating a more diverse and collaborative network where innovation thrives, and developers can experiment with cutting-edge AI solutions that push the boundaries of what agents can achieve. 

The introduction of the Risk Manager (Warren) in Q2 2025 will bring sophisticated risk management capabilities to the Griffin ecosystem. Designed to help users navigate complex financial decisions, Warren will incorporate advanced frameworks for analyzing, mitigating, and managing risks across a variety of applications, including DeFi protocols and blockchain-based investments. This agent represents a commitment to empowering users with the tools they need to make informed, secure decisions in an ever-evolving landscape. 

By the second half of 2025, we’ll continue to expand the capabilities of Vesper and Warren by integrating them with additional DeFi protocols. These enhancements will allow the agents to provide even more comprehensive support for users, covering a wider range of financial services and strategies. This ongoing development ensures that Vesper and Warren remain relevant, practical, and deeply aligned with the needs of the decentralized finance community.
