Welcome to the comprehensive recap of our Community AMA of 2026. This session featured our founder and technical lead, Oliver Feldmeier, to discuss product progress, the 2026 roadmap, and answer questions.

Opening Remarks: Greetings from Switzerland and Hong Kong

Jingyi: Happy New Year everyone! It is great to kick off 2026 together with our first community AMA of the year featuring our founder and technical lead, Oliver. For those joining for the first time, Griffin AI is a pioneer in the agent builder space, having launched autonomous transactional execution agents and research agents that provide crypto research while you sleep.

Oliver: Greetings from Switzerland! While it is warm in Hong Kong, we are around freezing here—zero degrees Celsius. We were recently in Davos for the World Economic Forum, which attracted global leaders and politicians. It was an exciting event atmosphere with great networking. At Griffin AI, we haven't been skiing; we've had a very full month with great progress on the product side.

The 2026 Roadmap: B2B Expansion and "Griffin X"

Jingyi: We received over a hundred questions from the community and grouped them into project development, token price/buybacks, user questions, and proposals. Oliver, let’s start with the roadmap.

Oliver: I am super excited about the progress on many fronts. While last year focused on the agent builder and playground, we have moved significantly into B2B and B2B2C applications. This means collaborating with major protocols to roll out agents for their user base. Reach is vital because real token value follows demand and native usage. We cannot go it alone; we need strong partners.

One major DeFi protocol application is fully tested and ready to launch, with the PR sequence currently being calibrated. Additionally, we have built an agent for another major protocol that will be our first real commercial application, featuring a revenue-share business model.

Oliver: What has me and the tech team most excited is a new multi-agent system we've developed over the last five months. Our internal title for it is Griffin X. This agent is different; it lives "in the wild" and users can engage with it over social media like X (Twitter), Telegram, or our website. It is essentially an AI cryptocurrency investment advisor and portfolio manager—think of it like a hedge fund managed by an AI. We will release it in stages, starting with research and advisory functionality before moving to public trading of assets in the AI hedge fund.

Security and Architecture: Lessons from OpenClow

Oliver: You may have heard of "OpenClaw" (formerly ClaudBot). While it shares our philosophy of social media integration, there are very high security concerns with its architecture. Currently, there are over 400 malicious skills in their repository that can steal your logins and crypto. If you give an agent access to browse websites or check emails, it is vulnerable to prompt or code injections that allow hackers to take over your machine.

Oliver: Griffin X is designed with a more robust, security-focused architecture. It is a multi-agent system where each sub-agent has a very specific focus such as for example:

  • Data Grounding: An agent doing technical analysis is given specific APIs (like CoinGecko) and ignores social media messages to stay grounded in reality.
  • Checks and Balances: If a social media monitoring agent sees a token "exploding" on Twitter, our data-driven agents sanity-check that narrative against actual price and volume movement on-chain.
  • Master Oversight: We have a master agent that can shut down the entire system if something goes wrong.

I am in favor of open-source, but you need a certain level of maturity before opening everything up. On our end, we will release test versions first so people can observe the agents without exposing users to the risks we see elsewhere.

Token Strategy: Buybacks and Treasury

Jingyi: Let's discuss the buybacks. When was the last one, and why did we skip January?

Oliver: The last purchase was in December, where we burned 10 million GAIN tokens—about 2.1% of the circulating supply. In January, we decided not to buy back because doing so in isolation, without an increase in native token demand, is inefficient. It creates a short-term spike that quickly fades. We are focusing on the B2B products and Griffin X to create a "flywheel" of real utility and token demand. When we trigger buybacks alongside this adoption, the growth will be sustainable.

Jingyi: Some community members suggest spend the whole treasury on buybacks?

Oliver: That would mean letting go of the team and stopping product development. Some meme tokens do that, but we are building a sophisticated, cutting-edge AI platform. We are not a meme. Spending the treasury just to buy back tokens while not innovating is essentially giving up. Our mission is to drive the convergence of blockchain and AI agents.

Milestones: The OpenAI Trophies

Oliver: Our platform has seen 57% month-over-month growth in utility metrics. It's often hard for the outside world to see this because it happens on our platform rather than on-chain. However, a few months ago, I announced we received a trophy from OpenAI for passing 10 billion tokens consumed that month. Just recently, I received another box—a second trophy for passing yet again another 10 billion tokens. This shows real people are using our agents. OpenAI is just the tip of the iceberg, as we also use DeepSeek, Llama, and Gemini. Being a real project, with real great agentic solutions for crypto, we are set to continue our mission.

Closing Remarks

Oliver: 2026 will be the year AI agents really take off. It won't just be back-and-forth chatting; it will be standalone applications that do a job and report back. The B2B implementations and Griffin X are our main focus for the next six months. We will do these sessions more frequently to look at the architecture and use cases in detail.

Jingyi: Thank you, Oliver. We will publish this AMA as written blog post and add later replies to the questions we could not cover in this one hour, in relation to practical user questions (from customer support) and proposals. Happy New Year and see you soon!
